Hours after he returned a punt for a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter of the New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon battle against division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Reggie Bush performed a successful resurrection of two people who had been shot and killed in a Ninth Ward trailer twenty-four hours earlier.
“Reggie had gotten the call to perform the resurrection this morning,” said head coach Sean Payton. “But he told the folks that he had to keep focused on what the Buccaneers’ special teams had planned for their punt coverage. Good thing for us.”
Immediately after the game, Bush was whisked to an undisclosed location where the bodies had been prepared for ritual resurrection. The victims, who did not want to comment on Bush nor indicate their assailant, were said to be resting comfortably.
“I think we all know when we drafted him that Reggie could do some special things for us,” said teammate Deuce McAllister. “And today he showed us two of those things.”
