In celebration of our cultural diversity (and perseverance in the face of continual adversity) NOLAFugees.com is pleased to announce the recipients of our first annual 40 Under (The Influence Of A) 40 award. The staff of NOLAFugees.com was asked to venture out into the world and ask people one question essential to survival in these trying times: What role has alchohol played in your success?

PART I (of 4)
Raven Aerialist At age 19 Raven began her aerial work in San Francisco. Shortly thereafter she moved to New Orleans, and with the exception of a few years hiatus in Chicago, she’s been in the NO ever since. The performing arts quite literally saved Raven’s life. “I lost my mind and came back out of it by doing dance and trapeze.” How then, does alcohol consumption fit into her routine? “It keeps me from taking myself too seriously….a day or two of a hangover can keep my body from burning out too fast.” Raven is the founder of Aurora Aerial, an aerial arts troupe. She performs a sexy and daring silk act as well as a skilled hula hoop piece with Fleur de Tease Sundays at One Eyed Jack’s.
Look for Parts 2-4 in our forthcoming issues.
